My name is Donna Furuike and I began my association with Waiau Elementary School back in 2000 when my son started Kindergarten. Throughout his years at Waiau, I have enjoyed chaperoning field trips and other class activities, and have volunteered at school wide functions such as the Book Fair and Fun Run. I also became involved with the PTA and served on the PTA board for 2 years.
Even after my son moved on to middle school and beyond, I remained a part of the Waiau Ohana by volunteering, mainly in the library, assisting the librarian until her retirement in 2013. I now still work part time in the library as a library aide.
